Great News, Possible Crowd Funding To Help The Families At A Toronto Exhibition

Facebook and being close to the good people in this world can lead to very positive things. Check out the chat messages below. Kumaran and Bob are truly good people who made wonderful suggestions after seeing the recent colour dump photographs on Facebook. Bob might be able to arrange a exhibition in Toronto that might also have crowd funding as part of it to help raise money for the families. Nothing is set yet, but it seems promising.

Here is our Facebook message chain:

Gerry Yaum Thanks Kumaran, just trying to calculate the money thing. I have 10-12 more nights in the dump, 7 headlamps, 2 sets of boots and $350 CAD. It should work out. If not an extra $200 or $300 on my part is not too big a deal. I will return to my security guard gig and start earning again mid April. Want and need to finish this up properly. Hopefully can come back in a year or two and do it all again. Maybe the “Families Of the Dump” colour NIGHT photos will help with that.

Kumaran Reddy Gerry Yaum you could use the artwork as incentives to different levels of support ....... but this trip is not even over yet so ....lets concentrate on that for now.

Gerry Yaum That sounds like an effective way to raise donation funds for next trip.

Bob Carnie Gerry I can help find a space in Toronto to show work, and maybe crowd fund at the same time as Kumaran points out.

Gerry Yaum Coming back to my room I felt rather exhausted from the dump tonight, 5 nights in a row...but then come home to wonderful messages from you Bob and before Kumaran that rejuvenate me. Thank you both. Also just found out there is a bunch of goods being donated by local Thais, stuffed toys, kitchen stuff etc. Feeling pretty good right now.

Bob Carnie I think we could aim for the Toronto Contact Photo Festival 2019, along side a crowd raising benefit show. When you get back to Canada we can talk. Keep doing the great work Gerry.
