Please Sit Here And Burmese Words

More and more families are asking me to sit inside their shacks in the shade of their home interiors. When I first arrive at the dump it is always very hot (NAI BOO-DAY). Most people are hiding from the sun when I walk by with my bags of food donations and camera gear. I think some of the folks are taking pity on me. They see this big huffing and puffing white dude sweating profusely and they offer their help with a smile.

Today during one of these home stays I learned a new word YEE-DEH (DAY) which means "laugh" in Burmese. My Burmese vocabulary is improving slowly, many dump folks are teaching me a word here and a word there.
