Another Polite No

Got this today, do not remember applying for the AGM but I will probably continue trying in the coming years, they seem like decent enough folks. Here is the generic received email they sent me, and some info that might be of help to others who read this blog:

Dear Gerry,

Thank you very much for supplying the Art Gallery of Mississauga with information on your work. I apologize for the delay in responding to you -  we are unable to devote the time to reviewing submissions as often as we would like, but we do want to thank you for your proposal. We understand how much time and effort goes into preparing submission materials, and we appreciate you thoughtfully selecting our Gallery to exhibit your work.

I have reviewed your materials in cooperation with the Gallery's Exhibition Review Committee.  After careful consideration, unfortunately we were not able to integrate your work into our exhibition schedule.

We hope that you will keep us informed as to the progress of your work. If you are interested in discussing your practice with our curatorial team, we invite you to sign up for one of our 30 minute Curator Fridays. These 30 minute meetings provide an opportunity to meet with a curator, open up a forum for critique and create conversation about your body of work and future proposals for AGM or other institutions.

We do hope to build a relationship with you in the future. The AGM asks all artists to engage with the gallery, even if you do not live in the region; we encourage you to find us on Facebook (Art Gallery of Mississauga) and Twitter (@AGMengage), or contact AGM Connect at agm.connect@mississauga.ca to join our mailing list! Finally, we also invite you to attend our exhibition openings, artist talks, and other forthcoming events. And of course please feel free to drop by the Gallery in person.

I wish you all the best in your artistic endeavours.

Sincerely,

,,,,, ,,,,,,

This rejection note was for the "Body Sellers" sex worker portraits. I will try again with the "Families of the Dump" images in the coming months once I get all the November film scanned.
