New Tool
I saw this being used by a photographer in a dvd a while back. It allows you to shoot a NTSC video of a 35mm or 120 negative, slide and and watch it live on a large flat screen TV through a S video cable. It retailed in the $1100-1500 range back in the early 90s. I got mine on ebay for $30 plus shipping, how pricing on technology changes!!
